     What do you say when you finish your work in Japan?

     Greeting is the very important act of communication  in human being.A greeting can contain kisses, handshakes ,hugs , various gestures and word.In Japan ,we are almost use in word.Do you know, we are islanders, we are afraid of contact with people long long ago.So then, it was often used in expression of words.There are many  ways of saying in Japan, when you finish your work.

There have a few difference, when we all go home and colleagues still remain in the company.When we all go home, we say

  • O tsukare-samadesu (Pardon me , I  have to go now) or
  • O tsukare-samadeshita(Good work) or
  • Mata ashita (See you tomorrow).

Colleagues still remain in the company, we say

  • Osakinishitsurei shimasu.(Pardon me , I  have to go now) Another ways, we can say
  • O tsukare-samadesu (Pardon me , I  have to go now) or
  • O tsukare-samadeshita(Good work) or
  • Mata ashita (See you tomorrow).

The another word is

  • Gokurōsama (Good job) or
  • Gokurōsamadesu (Thank you for your hard work) or
  • Gokurōsamadeshita ( Thank you for your good work )

This word is to determine your position.

As a business manners, dont use its with your superior and colleagues.

Because it is impolite word.

If you are Boss or superior,  you can say above word.

But you will return first, dont say

  • Gokurōsama (Good job) or
  • Gokurōsamadesu (Thank you for your hard work) or
  • Gokurōsamadeshita ( Thank you for your good work )
  • At that time, the basic word to use O tsukare-sama.
